Swiss Sion goalkeeper and Austrian national team Heinz Lindner has announced that he has cancer of the left testicle:
“Unfortunately, I have to inform you that this season has ended for me in Sion and in the national team. Recently I was diagnosed with a tumor in my left testicle. This diagnosis shocked me greatly. A few days ago I had an operation that went very well.
Fortunately, the malignant tumor was detected in time and had not yet had time to spread.”
This season, Lindner has made 29 appearances for Sion in all competitions, in which he has conceded 53 goals and kept clean four times. The 32-year-old goalkeeper has made 36 appearances for the Austrian national team.
