Ukrainian winger of the Polish Cracovia Evgeny Konoplyankawho at one time played for Dnipro and Shakhtar, shared his thoughts on the fight for gold medals in the UPL:
“Dnipro-1 has a good chance of winning the UPL, as Shakhtar have a slightly harder game according to the calendar. But my opinion is that the championship will be won by the Donetsk team, as the experience of the players plays an important role.
As for the face-to-face duel, Dnipro-1 should play against Shakhtar without fear, try to get three points. Only then can Dnipro have chances for the championship, because then, I think, Dnipro-1 can lose points.”
In the 28th round of the Ukrainian Championship, Dnipro-1 will play against Vorskla, while Shakhtar will play against Zorya. Then the leaders of the championship will meet in full-time duel in the 29th round. The Dnipro team will end the season with a match against Kryvbas, while the Pitmen will play against Vorskla.
