General Director of K2 Promotions Ukraine Alexander Krasyuk shared his opinion about WBA contender Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs), who should fight against WBA, WBO and IBF champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs).
“Dubois is a regular WBA champion, but he hasn’t fought the elite heavyweights. The last fight in which he fought against Kevin Lerena from South Africa was a big challenge for him because Daniel suffered a knee injury. It seems to have fallen three or four times. It was a very important, career-defining moment when he gathered his will into a fist and showed it in the ring, as he won and knocked out Lerena after so many falls.
The fight with Kevin Lerena showed that Dubois has a heart, that he is brave. But he is not at the elite level yet. So this is a good opportunity for Dubois to prove that he is in the top 5-10 heavyweight division. And this gives him a chance to earn money that he did not receive before, because Daniel will fight for all the major heavyweight titles, except for one – the WBC green belt, owned by Tyson Fury, ”Krasyuk said in an interview with Bokserorg YouTube channel.
