Oleksandr Shovkovskiy, the 17th head coach of Dynamo, played his first match in the Ukrainian championships as the head coach of Dynamo. His debut at the helm of the White-Blues was crowned with a victory over Metalist (3:1). This, in fact, was not surprising. After all, of all the predecessors of Shovkovsky, only three – Jozsef Sabo, Alexei Mikhailichenko and Leonid Buryak – failed to celebrate victory in the premiere game.
By the way, this is the 13th time Dynamo has changed their coach during the season. Previously, for one reason or another, Anatoly Puzach (1992/93), Mikhail Fomenko (1993/94), Jozhef Sabo (1994/95 and 1996/97), Valery Lobanovsky (2001/02) did not work with the team from the beginning to the end of the championship , Alexey Mikhailichenko (2004/05), Leonid Buryak (2005/06), Anatoly Demyanenko (2007/08), Valery Gazzaev (2010/11), Yuri Semin (2012/13), Oleg Blokhin (2013/14) and Alexander Khatskevich (2019/20).
