The head coach of Metalist Kharkiv Peritsa Ognenovich shared his impressions of the match of the 23rd round of the UPL against Dynamo Kyiv (lost 1:3):
– Dynamo had an advantage in the game, but we expected it, we planned it that way. We were waiting for our chances with counterattacks. But the episode with the red card changed everything on the pitch. I don’t know if it was red or not, but that moment completely changed the game.
– Did you expect such a result or were you more optimistic before the match?
We always prepare the team to win the game. It is clear that this is Dynamo. But we were also preparing to win against Shakhtar. As always. It’s just that there are games in which you need to act more with your heart. I won’t say that we didn’t want to play today, but the moment with the red changed everything. I won’t tell you for a long time, I’ll just note that the removal had a great impact. It became very difficult for us, because Dynamo is a very good team.
– Metalist hasn’t won for a long time. How hard is it to keep the team in a normal mental state, to set it up for matches?
– We know the situation. But what to do? We have to work, prepare the team for the next match. Sooner or later the team will win and then the psychological state will be much better.
